I'm talking about someone who does for job something that the general  
public will readily perceive as generic philosophy. That would not be  
me, and the MOQ would currently not be generic philosophy. These kind  
of people peer-review journals. Sure, we have devoted a lot of effort  
to this too, but that wasn't what I meant when I said that. By "these  
kind of things" I did not mean only philosophy, but the academic  
traditions one has to adhere to in order to be a generic philosopher.  
The generic philosopher probably has a PhD and he's interested of  
stuff like "rehabilitation of the coherence theory of truth and in the  
reconstruction of philosophical pragmatism in line with the idealistic  
tradition" (from a Wikipedia entry about Rescher).
