Hi Marsha;

Until Pirsig came on the scene, It was accepted that the knower and the
known were separate.  I am not what I know I only act that way.

With DQ/SQ as a metaphysical description of reality the knower experiences
indefinable reality.  In knowledge experience is indefinable in being
individualized and free will is conceptualized.

IMHO Consciousness is a level in evolution which has not been explored in
discrete evolutionary terms since S/O does not have the range for evolution
that DQ/SQ has in its conception of indefinable experience as knowable by
the individual.  Reality!
