Mark to Andre:
Given that Andre, could you present a paragraph containing a summary of how you see the intellectual level?
Andre:
Given we are discussing Pirsig's MoQ, why should I give you my idea of the intellectual level? Is Pirsig's description not good enough for you? If I say that I cannot see anything wrong with Pirsig's description am I, as far as you are concerned, 'chickening out' then? Am I not venturing out in the country high enough for you?
I like the valley I am in at present mate. The high country is lonely, cold and lacking in enough oxygen. That is not where the work needs to be done. The MOQ gives me plenty to work on in this valley. Afterall, didn't Pirsig write the MOQ to make this world a little bit of a better place to live in? To improve the world?
I am sure he did not mean that we should all build comfortable pies in the sky and live on and eat of them... . Oh well, you can of course. The result of that is easily predictable.
I'll not respond to the earlier parts of your post. I think it's mostly condescending and patronizing bull.
