[MF] faith, hope and love

I thought I would add my thoughts on faith; what it is and how it relates to
the MOQ.

Dictionary.com had several definitions;
1.	"Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a
person, idea, or thing." This is probably the broadest definition - faith as
a confident belief, such as having faith that when you take a step, you
won't fall through the floor - very basic.
2.	"Faith Christianity. The theological virtue defined as secure belief
in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will." This is pretty straight
forward and self-explanatory.
3.	"Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence."
Here is where the problem lies. When 'faith' is not supported by the
evidence or is outside of logic, then it is based on a belief - something
that you FEEL is true, but doesn't necessarily have any basis in fact, or
may even be BEYOND the world of facts in some sense. Faith replaces, or
supplants, the need for any other evidence or argument. If I have faith
that God exists, then it is beyond the reach of material proof and logic; in
fact, any evidence to the contrary has no effect on me, because my faith
sustains me no matter what.

The MOQ does not require faith; it only requires that we open our eyes and
minds to see what there is to see. Whether or not we perceive it, or even
agree it exists, it is still there regardless; it requires no belief or
faith on our part at all. A Christian God without faith has no meaning,
because without the faith that He exists, I have nothing.

Faith in this sense requires an unsubstantiated form of belief. It has its
place in our world, but not here.
