Marsha,
I remember a comment by John Gatto in Dumbing Us Down where he lays the
blame at the feet of two different entities - school and tv. It has to be
one or both of those, he says, because that's really all kids get. Those
are the two sources of values-transmission. there ain't nothin' else.
