Hi SA ,
(and Squonk, I'll come back later when I've had a bit more thinking
time on the socio-intellectual bit.)
SA, I think I saw the set of threads on the individual / collective
... it led me to the Randian "selfishness" discussion ... I didn't
dive in there because as you point out the polarisation of one
"versus" the other, one "or" the other, is never my cup of tea. It's
an "axis" where both aspects exist ... I think I was suggesting to
Squonk that this axis may be more significant than the social -
intellectual one .... but not in any exclusive way ... "excusive-or's"
are rarely in my vocabulary. I need to consider Squonk's points in
response to this ...
