MOQ intellect is a step above S/O intellect approaching the higher art level,
but still within the general level of intellect.

[Arlo]
So you are subdividing the intellectual level into a "lower" strata, S/O, and a
"higher" strata, MOQ? I assume you side with Bo in believing that no other
culture has ever gone higher than the social level? (Except for a brief episode
surrounding the Upanishads). In other words, you would say that this "MOQ
intellect" is exclusive to Western American culture (or subculture, if you
will)?

My interpretation of LILA is not that MOQ intellect arises from S/O intellect,
but that MOQ intellect should replace S/O intellect. And that other cultures,
such as the Buddhists and the Amerindian, demonstrated aspects of MOQ intellect
(such as considering "Good" to be a noun).

[Platt]
What's the difference. Does capitalization make a different metaphor?

[Arlo]
"True/False" would imply (to me) an absolute that would be True or False for all
peoples in all times under any circumstance. "true/false" implies (to me) a
provisional that may be true for these people in this time under this
circumstance.

"Then one doesn't seek the absolute "Truth." One seeks instead the highest
quality intellectual explanation of things with the knowledge that if the past
is any guide to the future this explanation must be taken provisionally; as
useful until something better comes along. One can then examine intellectual
realities the same way he examines paintings in an art gallery, not with an
effort to find out which one is the "real" painting, but simply to enjoy and
keep those that are of value. There are many sets of intellectual reality in
existence and we can perceive some to have more quality than others, but that
we do so is, in part, the result of our history and current patterns of
values." (LILA)

Like anything else, the problem with "True/False" is that it neglects the
metaphoricity of the original, and as the world changes, and a new metaphor is
needed, people cling to the old "words" rather than what they intended to do.

"The static language of the Metaphysics of Quality will never capture the
Dynamic reality of the world but some fingers point better than others and as
the world changes, old pointers and road maps tend to lose their value.
Religious orthodoxy is composed of old pointers. Classical science is now an
old road map, and modern science keeps looking for new ones. It is this looking
for new pointers, not the pointer itself, that is the essence of Dynamic
philosophy." (MOQ Summary)
