I don't think this principle fares any better. The problem is that this big wide world doesn't depend on our puny ability to PROVE (as opposed to GIVE REASONS FOR or PROVIDE EVIDENCE FOR) things.
The argument I like is:
1) Millions of people have died & the world has continued.
2) I have no reason to believe my death will be any different in this respect.
3) :. It's reasonable to believe the world will continue after I die.
