Escapism is fine, it's when a character is used to escape a 
conversation that it bothers me, let me put it into terms
you might understand, if, while in the world of war craft
you have been battleing a character for a period of time
and when you have him where you want him and deliver the
cue-de-gras  he shakes it off and declares he is Myron from
Milwaukee and such contrivances are meaningless to him 
too bad! and walks away to do battle again to use the same
tactic on someone else. That would be a cheat correct?
