Strange Krimel, that you mention the myelin problem, i'm having it in my
schoulder ,the dokters feared
that i had MS at first, but it remained local, turned out to be triggered by
living on my bycicle, RSI so to speak.
so badly damaged myelinenveloppe's on my nerves , pain all the time, glad it
turned out not to be MS.
But the damage is irreversible, no repair anymore.

I hope i can find the part back from the squidpage referring to the presence
of braincells within the arms.
This machine is hopeless.....

Sorry about that. Getting gimped up really does suck but getting better is,
well, "better," actually much better.

I think it is important to point out that while we tend to focus on the
brain, the brain is just part of the larger nervous system which is
distributed throughout the body. The nervous system is fundamentally an
input->processing->output system where the brain does the processing.

But it actually even more complicated because the brain has other ways of
gathering input and creating output. The nervous system works for high speed
and high bandwidth applications. The blood stream also conveys input and
output to the brain which functions as a master gland and controls the
endocrine system. That's how you know you are hungry or running out of
oxygen and stuff like that.

Part of the problem really is the attempt to isolate the brain from the rest
of the system. It is not a separate and distinct autonomous thing. It is
interlinked to the whole body at through the body to the great big wide
world outside. This by the way was the subject of a debate a some big
philosophy conference a couple of years ago and condensed into a debate
edited by Daniel Robinson. It pitted Dennett and Searle against Hacker and a
neuroscientist, Bennett:
