Adrie,

dang it, that plug is probably pretty deep in the head, now that I think
about it, what with the cooling fins and all.  Breaking it off would take
more than a hammer, no matter how big.

 I think I'd try and break the spark plug off, using this fabled hammer.

Perhaps a hammer and cold chisel, depending on the configuration it might be
pretty tricky getting at it.  I guess I'd end up coming at it from the
combustion side for sure.  All I know is that with a welder and a milling
machine, a guy can do pretty much anything.

And Adrie, I was just kidding.  I don't think you're "a mere auto factory
worker".  Not at all.  I may not be a genius or a great mechanic, but I know
that much.
