Hi Ron

I don't know for sure, but I would say that the selfless existence
doesn't mean denying the self so much as it means realizing the self
doesn't exist in light of the Buddha's teachings.

Ron:

Hey Dan,

But I would argue that the Buddha is not teaching that the self
does not exist at all, it does exist, just not as an independant
seperate entity.

The ego and the self do exist, but they exist as relationships.

the self, our values, are the center of experience.

I conclude, then that experience exists, therefore the self

exists, therefore the understanding of experience plays

an intrigal part in the quality of experience.

The buddha promotes cleanliness of the body

which relates to the cleanliness of environment

which promotes cleanliness of the mind

which promotes cleanliness of the body

which promotes cleanliness of the mind

which is cleanliness of the spirit

this harmony of self extends to all experience

this self pervades all

for Quality is indeed reality
