Hi All,

There’s an apparent contradiction between ZMM and Lila (LC) on the role of emotion in our lives..

"In the past our common universe of reason has been in the process of escaping, rejecting the romantic, irrational world of prehistoric man. It's been necessary since before the time of Socrates to reject the passions, the emotions, in order to free the rational mind for an understanding of nature's order which was as yet unknown. Now it's time to further an understanding of nature's order by re-assimilating those passions which were originally fled from. The passions, the emotions, the affective domain of man's consciousness, are a part of nature's order too. The central part.” - ZMM

"As I understand it the term “emotivism” is a way of reducing all value to biology, thus making it a part of the SOM universe. The MOQ sees emotions as a biological response to quality and not the same thing as quality. There are many cases, particularly in economic activity where values occur without any emotion.” - Lila’s Child.

Emotions - are they good or are they a low quality biological responses?  How do you reconcile these two statements?

Thoughts?
