  was saying something similar to what you just said - basically, a plea

  without getting sidelined by insults. I don't think I ever rolled out
  the "more heat than light" cliche :-) I guess that even the
  visionaries need to keep warm.

  The thing to realise is that most of the animosity goes back much
  longer than you or I have been subscribed to MD, and MD has always
  survived it. I don't like conflict much, either. But we can live with
  it.
